ABOUT Buttocks Liposuction

Who does not want around and perfectly shaped buttocks? A perkier and proportionate buttock is what everyone desires. But when it comes to the liposuction of the butt it is just to achieve a better shape. This is also true that liposuction of the butt solely cannot achieve the desired results, to enhance the actual results the surrounding areas such as hips, rear thighs, and outer thighs must also be addressed.

Fatty deposits accumulate at the buttocks and most of the time, these fats cannot be addressed or are resistant to diet and exercise. The excess fat in the body that has clustered in different areas of the body often leads to a disproportionate body and leads to improper fit in clothes. In such situations, liposuction can successfully trim down the excess fat to give a better proportionate appearance of the body.

Undergoing liposuction of buttocks makes it possible to trim down the body which can literally give a psychological lift and an extra boost to maintain the achieved figure with exercises. Most of the patients who have undergone the procedure claim that, clothes tend to get fit better and these changes have made them feel young, fresh and rejuvenating. Physical activities also seem pleasurable after undergoing the procedure.

To perform buttock liposuction, a small narrow tube-like device is required which is called cannula. It is a thin steel tube that is gently inserted into the fat layer at the buttocks. Incisions are made in the area of treatment and through these incisions, the cannula is slowly inserted and slowly moved it back and forth motion through the fat layer while keeping it completely parallel to the skin. This motion helps the fat cells to break down which is later sucked out through the cannula.
Buttock liposuction is done by minimally invasive tumescent liposuction so the procedure can be executed under local anesthesia. So you can easily go back home after undergoing this procedure. Moreover, tumescent liposuction leads to faster healing and the best-desired results are obtained. On an average, the procedure may take one to two hours to complete.

However, liposuction of the buttocks can also be performed by a relatively new technique which is, ultrasound assisted Liposuction or UAL. UAL utilizes sound waves that liquify the fat after the injection of fluids. Just like tumescent liposuction UAL also includes less trauma, bruising and blood loss.

However, it is the surgeon who will choose the perfect technique after determining the amount of fat to be removed.

Immediately after undergoing the procedure the candidate usually feel tired because their body has been through an exhausting surgery. The hips and legs will more likely be stiff and some pain, bruising, burning, swelling, bleeding and temporary numbness may be felt immediately after the procedure. The doctor may prescribe some medications like painkillers and antibiotics and other medications to relieve the initial discomfort. A drainage tube may be inserted under the skin to drain the excess fluid. A light compression garment will be provided for the patients which will help reduce the pain and swelling and support the skin to achieve the desired results.

However, most of the bruising and swelling will subside within three weeks through the speed of recovery may vary from person to person. Normal to light activities can be resumed within few days. But strenuous activities should be resumed after several weeks. Finally, it is important to follow the post-op instructions provided by the surgeon.

Buttock liposuction is one procedure that does not treat the buttocks evenly, rather it is performed from all the sides. The midline, coccyx, hips are also liposuctioned under the same procedure to achieve the desired results. However, some patients may be required to treat the area just below the under-buttock crease. But before liposuctioning that area, the surgeon must be aware of the fact that excessive removal of fat from that area can result in the dropping of the upper thigh on the back.

  • Before performing the liposuction, the surgeon usually marks the precise areas on the body from where fat is to be removed. Next, an intravenous sedation line is inserted into a vein in the arm to make sure that the fluid remains in the body.
  • During the procedure, the surgeon usually makes tiny incisions on the skin near the buttock crease and inserts a thin tube called a cannula into the fatty area. The cannula is used to break and loosen the fat deposits and sculpt the area towards the desired proportions. The undesired fat is suctioned out with a powerful vacuum leaving the skin, muscles, nerves and blood vessels intact.
  • After completing the liposuction of the buttocks the candidate will definitely experience some pain and tenderness for the first few days. Gradually the pain and swelling will start diminishing with time and under proper medication through the recovery time may not be same for all. The results will be visible within two to three weeks but the ultimate result will be visible after six months. The more the fat removed the longer the skin takes to adjust to the change.
